Our mission is to provide working adults the freedom and flexibility to complete their education and earn a degree through the use of technology and distance learning.  Madison University provides an alternative to traditional classroom based programs and encourages students to explore their potential and continue their education.  Our primary goal is to utilize distance learning teaching methods to prepare students for rewarding jobs in high-demand careers.

The University has achieved this objective by keeping abreast of employment demands, employer needs, teaching methods, and the use of various educational resources and industry-standard equipment.
  Since its inception, the University has held a basic belief that an individual's multiple learning experiences can be measured, assessed and translated to academic credit.  One of the principle objectives of Madison University is that of providing a comfortable environment for personal growth, development, and self expression.

Students have accepted the challenge of completing their degree objectives by utilizing the University's off-campus, self-paced approach to education. Experienced adults with an interest in a university program that grants recognition for prior occupational and educational achievements will recognize that Madison University can assist them in meeting their personal educational goals.

Goals

The University's primary goal is to utilize distance learning teaching methodology to prepare students for rewarding jobs in high-demand careers. Structured programs are designed to:

  • Motivate independent learners to pursue the acquisition of knowledge and self enrichment

  • Promote higher education commensurate with career advancement and personal achievement

  • Encourage portfolio assessment to formalize previous academic achievements and experiential learning that may equate to college level credit hours

  • Cultivate a self-paced learning environment that encourages a flexible balance of course completion, career commitment and family responsibilities

  • Utilize short and long-term academic goals to improve the student's confidence level and self-esteem which will ensure their ability to negotiate a competitive salary while making a significant contribution to their employers

  • Provide consistent encouragement throughout the completion of each student's degree program by maintaining a network of student support, which enables communication between faculty, active students and alumni

  • Encompass a wide range of innovative concepts and ideas while maintaining integrity and standards equivalent to traditional classroom based higher education institutions

  • Challenge each student with a curricula designed for degree-specific course completion, which requires problem solving and analytical skills

  • Offer quality education with affordable tuition

  • Allow students to participate in course selection in order to tailor and personalize degree programs

  • Employ qualified faculty to continuously implement the use of comprehensive, current teaching materials specific to the student's major of study

Accreditation and Recognition

Madison University is a private, post-secondary distance learning institution.  The courses and curriculum we provide consist of college level material that is consistent with the academic quality of traditional campus based programs. Our mission is to provide mid-career professionals with a flexible and affordable way to obtain higher education and complete their degrees.

The University will accept transfer credits from any accredited university, community college or technical institution. Madison University has an open enrollment program with a study-at your-own-pace philosophy. The University is not listed with any government agency or the U.S. Department of Education and is not designed to meet the needs of students intending to use Federal Funds. 


It is the responsibility of each student to determine, prior to registration, that his/her degree program or studies meet admission, employment, or transfer requirements. Students interested in state licensure or certification programs should contact the Office of Admissions prior to enrollment to determine the specific requirements for his/her resident state.

US Distance Learning Association

Madison University is a member of the United States Distance Learning Association.  The primary goal of the USDLA is to provide national leadership in the field of distance learning and to promote the use of modern technology to enable students to complete their education and earn their degrees. 

US Department of Education

The U.S. Department of Education states; accreditation does not provide automatic acceptance by an institution of credit earned at another institution, nor does it give assurance of acceptance of graduates by employers.  Acceptance of students or graduates is always the prerogative of the receiving institution or employer. For these reasons, besides ascertaining the accredited status of a school or program, students should take additional measures to determine, prior to enrollment, whether or not their educational goals will be met through attendance at a particular institution. 

Madison University Career Center

Madison University recognizes and accepts its responsibility to provide students with the necessary knowledge, skills and resources to enable them to make well-informed decisions regarding their education choices.  Please contact the Office of Admissions for specific information pertaining to your selected degree program. 

The University's degree programs are not designed to meet any particular state or national licensing or credentialing laws or to meet any requirements established by any private, independent professional associations. If licensing is the objective of a degree program, students are advised to check the requirements of their particular states, school districts, professional associations and agencies for specific licensing protocol.

 



The University is currently facilitating the needs of active students/graduates and is not accepting new enrollment or admission applications.
